Classes for Adults
These are the Group classes available for Adults (Open to High schoolers by request)

The “Crescendo Carolers”
Rehearsals on Mondays from 6pm- 7:30pm, Ages 14+
This SATB choral group for adults will learn Classic Carols, Holiday Standards and unique favorites, with the goal of performing in traditional Dickens style Holiday attire! This casual and fun group will learn to harmonize to holiday songs, and put on a show, in as many opportunities as we can find! Some prior experience singing is encouraged, but not required, and no audition is needed to join. Choir is free to attend, and open to the community!
This Choral group Runs in Conjunction with The Standish Community Choir.
CLASS DATES:
Holiday Session: September 30th- December 22nd
Anticipated performances include the Standish Tree-Lighting, Steep Fall Tree Lighting, Crescendo’s December Showcase, Standish Active Seniors Brunch, and More!

Adult Acting
Tuesdays from 7PM -8PM
This class is for adults (Ages 16+ up) who want to improve their Acting skill while learning from Tom Scannell, an expert in the field with over 40 years of experience!
This class will focus on building a solid foundation in the art of acting. Students will concentrate on monologues, character work and scene study. Tom tailors his class to the students using a mixture of creative exercises, theatre games and improvisation to build confidence and access emotions. Students learn how to work organically and honestly by mastering their personal technique in a supportive, creative, and fun environment. Here the focus will be on the development of your own unique voice as well as working collectively in an ensemble.
Scenes and monologues will be drawn from every genre of theater – Greek classics to current works – whatever works for each individual.
Come join us and learn to challenge yourself, trust yourself and expand your natural abilities.
CLASS DATES:
Fall Session -Tuesdays from 7PM -8PM.
October 15th - November 22nd (Black Box Performance) or December 14th showcase
Ongoing registration Cost - $15 Per class (Billed Monthly for the following Month)
Class requires a min of 3 registered Students to make
Drop-in Class cost - $20 per session (Only available after min class number has been reached)
Standish Community Choir
The Standish Community Choir hopes to bring a fun opportunity for locals aged 14 and up to sing a diverse range of music together! This choir is directed by Katherine Lind, a current music educator at Sacopee Valley Middle School and Standish resident. The SCC has taken a hiatus since 2022 but is ready to get back to making music!

All levels of experience are encouraged to join and welcome to drop in anytime! There is no cost to be a part of this choir, and no audition is required.
